54 Holes of golf in one day (3 rounds) · 11 August 2025

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

Hello all you wonderful people.

Get Monday 11th August in your Diary!

In memory of my amazing Dad (Peter)

There’s been an update! Due to me wanting to play these rounds at Cookridge Hall (Dad went there almost every day to use the gym and pool), I can now only play three rounds. This is due to Cookridge being incredibly busy. To compensate I will now carry a full bag of clubs not just five)

I’m going to be playing 54 holes of golf (three full rounds) at Cookridge Hall. I will be walking the entire round and I will be carrying my own bag. Each round is 3.4 miles (if you hit the ball straight) so the whole Day will be 10.2miles (if I’m very very lucky, it’s going to be closer to 15miles).

I lost my Dad to a brain tumour in June last year. One of the last things we celebrated together was my Win at the ITV Leeds masters golf competition. He was so happy and over the moon that I had come away with the trophy. That was the 22nd of May, he passed away five weeks later.

To give back to the wonderful people and staff (that looked after Dad in his final week) at Wheat fields Hospice in Headingley. I thought we could raise some money by putting myself through golf hell for a day.

Thank you for taking time to read and donate.
