Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am running to raise awareness and funds for Long Covid Kids Scotland. There are approximately 110,000 children and families suffering from Long Covid in the UK.

Our son, Sam, who is twelve years old, has experienced symptoms of Long Covid since November 2021, but most acutely since May 2023. Sam's main symptoms are extreme fatigue and debilitating headaches. He has been largely unable to attend school and has had to miss out on many of the activities and experiences that define and enrich childhood.

Children and young people with Long Covid are mostly unheard and their difficulties are unseen. They have experienced the dual burden of social and educational disruptions, including loss of learning, a loss of ability to undertake daily activities and long-term injury to their health. Symptoms range from extreme fatigue and cognitive dysfunction to autonomic nervous system disruption and gastrointestinal issues.
