4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours, over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day · 24 December 2024

Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. Our mission is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. These serious mental illnesses ruin and, too often, take lives. Our Helpline is available online or by phone for anyone suffering, as well as their family and friends.

Story

There are an estimated 1.25million people in the UK with an eating disorder and around 1 in 4 of those are Male. Unfortunately, Anorexia has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness.

The Christmas period can be an incredibly difficult time for those who have experienced an eating disorder because of its large focus around food. Due to this, I will be running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours over Christmas Eve and Christmas day whilst wearing a 10 kilo weight vest.

Eating disorder research and treatment is seriously underfunded and needs all the help it can get. If you are in a position to donate, any donation, big or small, would be massively appreciated.

For those who have lost, won or are currently fighting their battle. I see you, this is all for you.
