London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·

World-leading specialists need world-leading support. RNOH Charity strengthens and supports the people, research and infrastructure that make RNOH one of the world's best orthopaedic hospitals.

Story

On Sunday 6 April 2025 I have decided to walk (or run) in the footsteps of two of my friends, Chris and James, to take on the London Landmarks Half Marathon! I'm doing this to mark the 15-year anniversary of having life-changing surgery to treat scoliosis. By the time I run the half marathon I would have spent most of my life post-surgery.

I have decided to raise money for the RNOH Charity, the charitable arm of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) NHS Trust in Stanmore. The RNOH is where I had my surgery in August 2009, and is one of the top centres in the world for the treatment of many complex orthopaedic conditions. Without the expertise of everyone at the RNOH, I simply wouldn't be the person I am today. Since its inception in 1997, the RNOH Charity has received and administered millions of pounds’ worth of donations, which have funded improvements to hospital facilities, supported pioneering research, funded staff training, and assisted in numerous other essential projects.

I'm hugely excited to start training and fundraise for an organisation that has been so fundamental in enabling me to live my life today. Please donate whatever you can to keep me motivated throughout my training, especially considering most of it will be done during the colder, winter months ;-)
