Story
Hello! It’s us, Camilla, Pierre and Agnes the Cockalier. We wanted to let you know that we are cycling the full length of Britain, from the northern-most point in Scotland, John o’ Groats, to the southern tip of England called Land’s End, and are aiming to raise money for The Humane League UK charity. During 30 days, we’ll cover over 1,800 km, battling Scottish rain, cobbled country side roads, bruised legs, sore thighs, and the growing suspicion that this was a terrible idea. Agnes, of course, will mostly be providing moral support and looking cute which helps a lot - trust me!
We’re excited to do this and raise funds for The Humane League UK, which works to end the abuse of animals raised for food. Their campaigns focus on practical, high-impact changes, including getting major food companies to improve conditions for chickens, ending cages for hens, and pushing for stronger legal protections for farmed animals. Something we know all our friends and family would support.
So, while you’re sitting at home in warm, dry comfort, please think of us battling extreme wind and rain, eating snacks by the roadside, and wondering why we chose Britain if all places to do this sort of challenge.
Every kilometre we cycle raises £8.33 towards ending the abuse of farmed animals, so please sponsor a few kilometres and help us along this treacherous journey. It makes a real difference, to both the innocent animals and to our mental health on the really really hard days. ❤️🚴♀️🐓
