Story
In recognition of World Alzheimer’s Month, which takes place every September, we are proud to be holding our very own ‘Memory Walk’ on Tuesday 24 September.
We have 50 places available on the walk, which will start at Jubilee Gardens next to our Southbank Place development and follow the Thames along to Jubilee Park in the heart of Canary Wharf. Click here to view the route.
Colleagues based on the Estate will meet at Canary Wharf Pier before taking the Thames Clipper down the river to join our Southbank participants. The route is step-free and will take around 2.5 hours, including a half-way pit stop for refreshments.
Date: Tuesday 24 September
Times:
• 2.30pm - 6.00pm Travel & Walk
• 6.30pm – 8.30pm Pizza & refreshments
Location: Jubilee Gardens to Jubilee Park
Travel by Thames Clipper to the start will be provided free of charge and walkers can look forward to pizza and a drink at the finish. You will need permission from your line manager to take part.
The Disability Equality Network (DEN) will be making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society in return for Memory Walk t-shirts which will be handed out to participants for free on the day.
Registration for the walk is by way of a £10 donation to The Carers Centre Tower Hamlets; a local charity that provides Dementia support and regular workshops for carers.
If you are interested in joining us, simply complete this short registration form and submit a donation of £10 (or more) to The Carer’s Centre Tower Hamlets (please be sure to check with your line manager before signing up).
