Lifeshare has been helping homeless and vulnerable people in Manchester and Salford since 1984.

Lifeshare's Goals

-Identify street homelessness and offer assistance in obtaining emergency accommodation, signposting other relevant agencies and information for support

-Alleviate poverty and hardship through redistribution of resources

-Assist people to access Primary Health Care

Why your support matters

In 1994, they started their Breakfast Project, which opens its doors every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning. The project provides hot meals, showers and clothing to their guests, who are the most marginalized in our community, ignored by most.

Lifeshare turned 40 in 2024, but this milestone was bittersweet. In just one year, the number of people attending the breakfast project increased from 150 to over 400. Every donation will help meet this growing need.

Why I'm running

In late 2024, I made the difficult decision to leave my career as a documentary director, as it no longer brought me joy - in fact quite the opposite. This step reminded me to embrace change and push my limits. The Great Manchester Run on May 18th will be my first half marathon and the longest distance I've ever run (my previous record is just 6 miles!).

During a documentary project a few years ago, I had the privilege of working closely with Lifeshare and witnessing firsthand the invaluable impact they have on people's lives. I saw how they treat everyone with dignity and create real change in my local community.
