Story
Those who know me well will know that hiking is my biggest passion, not only for my love of the hills and mountains, but also for the mental healing powers they offer me.
To sum me up, I am never happier than when up a hill.
For many years it has been a dream of mine to climb Kilimanjaro - the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world - in other words, one hell of a hill!!
So, on 20th September 2024 I will be heading off to Tanzania to fulfil this dream!
Although this is a personal bucket list dream I thought that it would be a fabulous opportunity to try and raise some money for a cause very close to my heart - Alzheimer’s Society.
I chose this charity in memory of my wonderful, beautiful Aunty Liz, who I miss so very much and also in memory of family members of friends who are so very dear to me. These friends have stood by me through some of the toughest times and I will use their love and support to get me up that hill!
I am self funding this trip, so every penny raised will go directly to the charity - every penny counts!
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.
