Skydive Weekend 2024
Campaign by Ronald McDonald House Charities (RCN England and Wales (802047), Scotland (SC040717))
When the best medical care isn't close to home, a Ronald McDonald House keeps families together. We're running a weekend of skydiving to help support Ronald McDonald House Charities UK.

Story

Myself, my mother and my brother are taking on the heights and skydiving from a plane as part of the Charity's Skydive Weekend, and I would be grateful for your support! We will be doing a skydive on Sunday 14 July 2024!!! We would like to raise as much money as we can for Ronald McDonald house.

Ronald McDonald House Charities UK provides free 'home away from home' accommodation to families with children in specialist children's hospitals across the UK, enabling them to be there throughout their treatment whilst maintaining a degree of normal family life. Through this charity Anton and I were able to stay on and off from Feb-July 2023. While our little girl Winnie was being cared for in PCCU (paediatric critical care unit).

We couldn't be more grateful for our stay there. It's charity run and is honestly a life saver when your baby/child/teen is critically ill. Just knowing you're across the road, if something were to happen during the night. Winnie became seriously unwell in the early hours of the morning once and we were there on the ward with her within 10 minutes. I just don't want to imagine if we'd been at home and had that phone call. Winnie was in HDU and then PCCU which don't allow parents to stay later than 10 Pm, so it really was a god send. We stayed the first few nights in a b&b up the road but it was unrealistic to think of that for the duration of Winnie's hospital stay with us both being off work and although we weren't staying at home the bills still needed to be paid. Ronald McDonald house provide your own on-suite room, own fridge, kitchen cupboards and also provide snacks, drinks and anything that's needed during the stay. We were lucky that family were visiting daily and bringing shopping up for us, but we also witnessed other families that weren't as lucky as us and had to rely on the generosity of Ronald McDonald house throughout they're stay. We'd like to give something back as a family and raise as much money as we can for them. Nobody ever thinks they'll be in the position to need something like that, we didn't! So please give and relieve some of the pressure that's faced by the parents and families that are there now and future families that will be using RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

Please help me and Ronald McDonald House Charities UK to look after thousands of families across the UK, keeping them close to their poorly child in hospital.
