Story
In July 2022 Canford lost a much loved member of its community. Bella Linley-Adams brought much joy and happiness to many of us in her short life, and Canford’s community will always be the richer for her having been part of it. A few words from Will Linley-Adams (OC (W07), Franklin HsM, Biology Teacher) and Laura Linley-Adams (Née Pick, Biology Teacher, Former Salisbury HsM) are shared below:
‘Will and Laura Linley-Adams’ daughter Bella was born in Franklin Housemaster’s House on 15th February 2022. Bella was such a gorgeous smiley baby who loved her life at Canford and frequent visits into Franklin with her big sister Molly. Devastatingly, she died from pneumococcal meningitis on 31st July 2022. She was vaccinated, but the pneumococcal variant that killed her was not included in the vaccine. Meningitis Research Foundation work to continue updating vaccines to try and prevent this fast-acting and lethal disease killing other children.’
As a warm and tight knit school community we wish to support Will and Laura in their desire to help fund research which could make a life-changing, and indeed life-saving difference to other families and other communities.
Canford pupils and staff will be walking 20 miles on 28th June to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation. We hope very much that you will do all you can to help our efforts.
