With the current cost-of-living crisis, thousands of people are expected to turn to The Salvation Army for help this winter. In over 650 communities across the UK, we will be doing all we can for them, whatever their circumstances.

Story

Your donation will go directly to our community work in Canvey Island Salvation Army - This includes our seasonal appeal at Christmas and our ongoing work throughout the year.

“Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.”

Our building in Mitchell Avenue has been part of the Canvey community since 1930. Recently, it has been like a sleeping Phoenix waiting to wake up and be part of the local community once again. It is said that Phoenixes are incredibly strong; capable of effortlessly lifting great weights with their tail feathers and able to fly long distances with a handful of people holding on to them. This is our vision for the Canvey Community Hub. Our unity is our strength and where teamwork and collaboration are present, wonderful things can be achieved.

We would like to open our Hall with a sensory/art area for creative passion and expression. A place where individuals can explore their feelings and by participating in creative activities, be supported to build positive social and emotional connections with others, learning about themselves and the world around them.

Your gift will help us achieve this by allowing us to purchase the resources we need to get our project started. Come fly with us as we work together to reach the sky and beyond, thank you.
