Team Capture's Walk to Lewa

Walking from London to Lewa · 29 June 2024
In memory of Saskia, our dearly missed co-founder, we have set ourselves a challenge...
In June 2024, Amelia will be travelling out to Kenya alongside her husband to take part in the Lewa Safari Marathon in Saskia's name, one of the most unique, yet demanding races in the world.
Facing 7,000 feet of hills, high altitude and up to 35 degree heat, they will be sharing the course with some of Lewa's iconic and critically endangered wildlife, including the black rhino and Grevy's Zebra, with funds raised going towards preserving the park's biodiversity.
But we wanted to join in too, so as a team, ahead of the Marathon on 29th June we have pledged to walk the total distance, from our office in Victoria, London, to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Kenya: 4,161.95 miles. That's 462 miles each over the next 80 days, which is a combined total of over 9.5 million steps (and yes, we have a spreadsheet to track it!).
We will be raising funds for Tusk Conservation, a charity very close to Saskia's heart, that for over thirty years has supported forward-thinking and successful conservation intervention in Africa. Tusk was one of our very first clients following our launch in 2020, and has been a real passion project for the team over the years.
Saskia's love for walking (EVERYWHERE) and wildlife conservation makes our unique challenge the perfect tribute.
We hope we do you proud Sas.
All our love, Your Capture Team x
