Team 38-Rhino Charge 2026

PATRICK AVERY is raising money for Rhino Ark

Rhino Charge 2026 · 30 May 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Rhino Ark raises money for the building of electric eco-fences around mountain ecosystems in Kenya, namely Aberdare National Park, Mt. Kenya and Mau Eburu. These provide an "ark" for wildlife such as rhino, leopard, elephant and mountain bongo as well as protecting vital upland watertables of Kenya

Story

In keeping with longstanding tradition Team 38 Bundu Fundi will be competing in the 2026 Rhino Charge representing our 30th consecutive event. What a privilege it has been, having raised over USD 550,000 for charity in the process. It is a remarkable achievement that has only been achieved through the generosity of the many faithful donors we have been lucky enough to have over the years.

The Rhino Charge supports the Rhino Ark Charitable Trust which has been working to address the threats tomountain forest ecosystems and wildlife in Kenya since 1989. Not only does the trust aim to protect wildlifeand its environment, but its efforts support communities living adjacent to these critical areas.

Rhino Ark continues to work closely with its governmental partner institutions (KWS and KFS) to conserve forests and wildlife in Kenya whilst working closely with the communities who border these forest areas. They are involved in funding and supporting critical work around conservation of the critically endangered mountain bongo, and the construction of an intensive protection zone in the Aberdares to enable the reintroduction of the black rhino there in 2026.

All teams competing in the event have to pledge to raise a certain amount for Rhino Ark as a condition of entry. We have pledged 1.5M KSH for the 2026 event but we very much hope to exceed 2M if we can.

Please help us in supporting the goals of Rhino Ark, which are so important to Kenya, its people, and wildlife. Kenya’s highland forest water towers are irreplaceable natural assets and are globally significant. We remain extremely passionate about their preservation so please give what you can to help this worthy cause.

Thank you for your support!
