Siemens in Manchester are this year supporting The Christie Charity as their 2025 nominated charity. Our fabulous team of runners will participate in both the 10k and Half Marathon distances and we aim to raise over £10,000. Last year we raised over £13500 – help us beat that total!!!

Cara and Dale are Siemens colleagues who form the Hebburn Harriers branch of the team based in and around the North East of England.

Cara's purpose 👉 I’m beyond excited to be running the Great Manchester Run on behalf of Siemens for The Christie Charity, a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. Having spent my childhood and teenage years in Manchester, it’s a city that means the world to me, and supporting The Christie, which provides vital services for cancer patients, makes this experience even more meaningful. The charity raises crucial funds to enhance patient care, offering state-of-the-art treatments and support to those facing the toughest battles. This is my first time running the Manchester half marathon, and I’m especially excited that I’ll be sharing the experience with my dad as he takes on his first ever half marathon too! What makes this event even more challenging is that it takes place just 14 days after I complete my first ever full marathon, presenting a true personal challenge. Dale's purpose 👉 Following completion of the Great North Run in 2024 where I aimed to raised funds for Kidney Research UK, I've set my targets this year to complete the Great Manchester doing the same for another worthy charity, 'The Christie'. On the back of completing this run I'll once again start to train for the Great North Run and the Great North 10K to set myself some much needed targets for achieving my fitness goals - trying to get back to my prime!!!
