Hello, my name is Cara and I am running the London Marathon 2026 to raise funds for Cats Protection.

I joined Cats Protection in September 2014, first volunteering and then I started working there in January 2017. I work at the Scotland and Glasgow Cat Centres and I also run the Facebook page for both centres. I am running the marathon so we can continue to put cats first and help those in need.

I also have my own cat who I adopted from the centre in March 2017 (didn't take long after I started working to sneak one home). His name is Alfie and he is the best wee cat ever. He arrived at the centre as his elderly owner could no longer look after him.

I love my job and feel privileged to be able to help hundreds of cats per year, but all of this comes at a cost which is why I am running the marathon to raise some much needs funds which will help cats in our care.
