Cardigan Bay Cycle Challenge for St Michael's Hospice, Hereford · 28 August 2024

We provide a range of services in Herefordshire and the surrounding area to people living with a terminal illness. Care is free to patients, their families and carers. This is thanks to supporters taking part in events, visiting our shops, playing our Lottery, donating and leaving gifts in wills.

Story

From August 28th to Sept 2nd 2024 Herbie Knott (75), James Richardson (44) and Alex Richardson (13) aim to cycle the hilly 120 miles from Cardigan to Porthmadog in Wales, to raise funds for St Michaels Hospice (Hereford).

Our ride is in memory of Stuart Elder, landlord of The Salutation Inn, Weobley and Dr Martin Moore. Both died before their time. Both were supported by St Michaels in their final days.

Day 1 - Cardigan Castle to Aberaeron

Day 2 - Aberaeron to Machynlleth

Day 3 - Machynlleth to Barmouth

Day 4 - Barmouth to Porthmadog

The Hospice multi-disciplinary team includes doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, complementary therapists, social workers, chaplains and counsellors.

These specialist Hospice staff work together and often in partnership with the NHS to relieve patients’ symptoms, control their pain and help them to live well until the end of life.

It is vital that everyone that needs it has the appropriate care and support they need to cope with the complex feelings and lifestyle changes caused by a terminal illness.
