We are a group of 17 individuals including Cardiac Physiologists and Cardiologists who work across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

As healthcare professionals, we have dedicated our careers to helping patients with cardiac disease. We work as a team everyday to provide the highest quality care to our patients. We will be relying on each other's support, encouragement, and motivation to complete this challenge.

We're putting our physical and mental endurance to the test as we prepare to hike up the highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales in just 24 hours on Saturday 24th June 2023. It's safe to say we'll be getting our cardio in on this challenge!

In our free time, we've been in the gym, taking group walks, and attending exercise classes to prepare for the challenge ahead. We know that it's going to be tough...so, if you see a group of slightly out of breath Cardiology experts up a mountain, please don't panic! We're just training for the National Three Peaks challenge and trying to raise funds for a great cause.

Not only are we taking on this challenge for our own personal achievement, but we're also using this opportunity to raise funds for a great cause - Calon Hearts. As healthcare professionals, we know that defibrillators can be the difference between life and death in the event of a cardiac emergency, and we're proud to support a charity that is working to make our communities safer.

Less than one in ten people will survive an out of hospital cardiac arrest. Survival rates can be increased significantly if a defibrillator is used and CPR is performed.

The money raised from this challenge will help Calon Hearts install more defibrillators in the community and ultimately save lives.
