Story
Hello
Years ago, I developed a disease that went undiagnosed for a long time.
For years, I lived in constant agonising pain. I had to leave my job. My life gradually shrank more and more — physically and mentally — as the pains got worse.
Eventually, I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis — a chronic inflammatory condition treated within rheumatology.
Treatments were tried, but nothing truly made a difference — until I was prescribed Humira (adalimumab).
That medication gave me my life back!
Honestly, it was like a miracle happened.
It didn’t cure me. I still live with the condition, and some days are worse than others. But it did help signifcantly so I'm able to live a relatively normal life again.
Without it, I genuinely don’t know where I would be. Life would be unimaginably harder.
The only reason this treatment exists is because of medical research.
The specific medication I use is Humira (adalimumab). It was developed at Cambridge University in the UK. That’s why I know they are doing some fantastic work there.
I’m raising money to support ongoing arthritis research — so that better treatments, and maybe one day even a cure, can exist for others.

CARE and the work of the Rheumatology Research Unit depend entirely on donated income.
If you’d like to support, even in a small way, it would mean more than you probably realise.
Thank You so much!
