Story
I’m running to raise money for Signpost Stockport for Carers (SSfC) because I know what it feels like to be an unpaid carer and not know where to turn.
A few years ago, my dad broke his knee. Overnight, I became his carer. I was trying to juggle work, family and responsibility, and although I was doing everything I could, I didn’t realise there were organisations like SSfC that existed purely to support people like me. I never reached out for help — not because I didn’t need it, but because I didn’t know it was there. They provide vital advice, emotional support, respite and a voice for carers who might otherwise feel invisible.
I’m running to:
Raise awareness so unpaid carers know support exists
Ensure families in Stockport can access the help they deserve
Give something back to the community that supports us
No one should have to struggle in silence simply because they don’t know where to find help. If my run helps even one carer realise they’re not alone — it’s worth every kilometre.
Thank you for supporting this cause and for supporting carers in our community. ❤️
