As a young child, I was memorised by a primary school teacher's reading of a Roald Dahl short story in which it talked about one of the characters taking part in a firewalk. Ever since then I have wanted to do one myself.

We have all been affected in some way by emotional and/or mental health challenges, either personally or through a friend or family member. Mid and North East Essex Mind supports and empowers people experiencing an emotional or mental health condition by building on their personal hopes and aspirations. Doing this challenge, provides a great chance to fulfil this lifelong wish, whilst also fundraising for a great charity such as Mind.

The firewalk is taking place on the 10th Oct near Chelmsford and would really appreciate your support with a donation however big or small. Of course you are welcome to come along to watch if you are in the area!

Wish me luck and a shout out to a fabulous teacher from my childhood, Mr Ferrett (perfect name for a Roald Dahl character don't you think?) for inspiring me to do this.
