Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, in memory of Christine Emma Thomas, partner to Carl Booth and friend to many, many people, who sadly passed away after a short illness on Wednesday 10th January 2024.
In Christine's memory, Carl, and his two sons, William & Llewellyn, are embarking upon a Race to Kendal (on a Concept2 rower) to raise funds for the mental health charity Mind. Carl is starting from the family home in Marshfield, South Wales, and William & Llewellyn from their home in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Essentially, it's Carl (Team 1) v William/Llewellyn (Team 2). The distance that each team needs to cover is 313km or 195 miles. The losing team has to buy Kendal Mint Cake for the winning team.
Christine was a very positive person with an uplifting personality and a golden smile. She lifted the spirits of many. many people who found themselves at a very low ebb in her lives and helped them defeat their demons, so Mind seems a very fitting charity to support in her memory.
Christine was not materialistic or money motivated, love and friendship were the most important things in her life, but let's try and raise as much money as possible for this wonderful cause.
The Race to Kendal starts on Monday 12th February.
