Story
I am running this year’s London Marathon in support of the incredible teams at St Mary’s Hospital NICU, whose ongoing care for my son, Max, has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Before Max was born, he was diagnosed with suspected oesophageal artresia and a plan was put in place for surgery immediately after his birth… his decision to arrive almost six weeks early wasn’t part of that plan! He spent his first months in the NICU, recovering from the operation and building up his strength under the expert care of the surgical and medical teams. Max is home and doing really well but he is a frequent visitor to RMCH and will be for much of his childhood.
Over the past year, as a family, we have seen firsthand the importance of neonatal care, in ways we hoped never to have to. I am fundraising to say a thank you and to help ensure these services remain available for the little ones and their families who need them most.
Any support you can give means the world. Thank you!
