From BMX sprints to Paris endurance… what could possibly go wrong? 🇫🇷
Those who know me from BMX will know my current fitness levels usually last about ¾ of a race before the wheels (metaphorically) fall off. So naturally, I’ve agreed (read: was press ganged) into riding from London to Paris over the course of 3 days starting this Thursday, 11th September.
Yes, you read that right. Three days. On a road bike (even I’m not stupid enough to do this on my bmx, maybe next time!). With basically zero training in the bank. Apparently “it’ll be fine”… and let’s just say I’ve used that logic before (remember when I rode Lands End to Penrith after only 100 miles the whole year? Exactly).
But there’s a serious reason behind the madness 👉 I’m raising funds for WMUK, the only UK charity dedicated to supporting people affected by Waldenström’s macroglobulinaemia (WM), a rare type of blood cancer.
Every penny helps WMUK support patients and families, provide expert information, and push forward research to improve treatment, care, and hopefully one day find a cure.
If you fancy supporting me as I crawl my way to the Eiffel Tower, aching, broken, and cursing my life choices, you can donate below.
Thanks all, I’ll pedal, you laugh/donate. Deal?
