carl's fundraiser for Milly's Smiles

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
I'm at it again-another marathon, this time the big one and I'm after some more money! Those who know the charity need no more introduction, for those that don't please read on.
11 year old Milly lost her battle with Leukaemia 10 years ago, her Mum, Lorraine set up a charity to support children and families like hers. I cannot put in any better than Lorraine:
'Having walked in parents shoes we understand the worry and uncertainty that comes hand in hand with a cancer diagnosis.
We provide a welcome bag, known as a Milly Bag, to each newly diagnosed family admitted onto Ward 84, at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Ward 3B at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Ward L31 at Leeds Children’s Hospital, Ward E39 at Nottingham University Hospital, Ward 4 at Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle and Kamran’s Ward at Oxford Children’s Hospital.
Our Milly Bags contain items that will help during the first few days, and weeks, of their hospital stay. Along with this we provide items that will bring a smile to the faces of the children, and let families know that people are thinking about them.
Simply put, if we can, we would like to make parents feel as though they have been given a hug, and that people do understand and care'
That is why I run through the streets of Great Harwood and surrounding areas to train for the London Marathon, so please give what you can to a great cause.
I will be running with Geoffrey on my back-give us a toot if you see me out and about practicing, I'm trying to acclimatise Geoffrey to the weather!
