Story
Mental Health is such a big thing that everyone is battling with one way or another. You realise how much you need that support when its gone.
October, mine went and you learn quickly that its super important to have that support round you, some need to rely on organisations Like Campaign Against Living Miserably.
"Why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up" - Batman Begins (2005)
Now, for 2026 - I am taking some positive steps and pushing to try new things and old things. In March, I am going to be taking on "Walk 50 Miles in March for Campaign Against Living Miserably." I'm raising money to support their lifesaving services, and your contribution will help them reach more people.
"You will have bad times, but they will always wake you up to the stuff you werent paying attention to." - Good Will Hunting 1997
Walking is a good exercise to get the brain going and losing a few pounds too. Healthy body = Healthy Mind.
ABOUT CALM
We’re the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) and we’re taking a stand against suicide. That means standing against feeling hopeless, standing up to stereotypes and standing together to show life is always worth living.
Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. CALM exists to change this - by offering life-saving services, provoking national conversation, and bringing people together to reject living miserably.
The Helpline takes 28,000 calls a month and that means a call gets answered every 59 seconds.
£12.20 is the cost of a potentially life saving call. (The price of a few coffees, or that cheeky takeaway.)
THE PLAN
At the moment, the plan is 4 Weekly walks of increasing distances.
Week 1 - 8 Miles (Complete - To The Shops and Back)
Week 2 - 12 Miles (Complete - Loop Around the City)
Week 3 - 14 Miles
Week 4 - 16 Miles
Update - Midway
Thank you for all that have donated. So far I am up to 8 water bottles in my bag, with £126 donated.
Its time for one last push.
If I get to £240, Hot Chip Challenge at my Workplace.

Week One - To the Shops and Back

Walking down the local Canals on route to the shop on the other end of the city. Then returning down a different route, past a lake. Glorious Day with good views.

Week Two - Loop around the City
Week two, ended up being a long loop around the quiet streets on my local city. Solid 4 hour 30 minute journey. Oddly easier than first week.
