Story
Right then — me and two mates have clearly made a questionable life decision… we’re walking the entire length of Hadrian’s Wall in 4 days from the 1st to the 4th August 2026.
That’s around 84 miles of hills, blisters, aching legs and three middle-aged lads wondering why we didn’t just agree to a sponsored pint instead!
But we’re doing it for a cause that means a huge amount to me: raising money for Alzheimer’s Society.
My dad, Trevor Whymark, played for Ipswich Town F.C. during the club’s great side of the 1970s. A lot of people remember him charging around Portman Road, scoring goals and playing with passion every week. But like so many families, we later saw a completely different battle off the pitch when he developed Alzheimer’s.
Watching someone so strong, proud and full of life slowly be taken by this disease is heartbreaking. Alzheimer’s doesn’t just affect one person — it affects entire families, friends and everyone around them.
So this walk is for him.
We’re hoping fellow football fans, Ipswich supporters and anyone who’s been affected by Alzheimer’s can get behind us, help raise awareness, and support the incredible work Alzheimer’s Society does for families facing this every day.
Every donation, no matter the size, genuinely helps. And if you can’t donate, a share would mean a massive amount.
Hopefully with your support we can raise a decent amount of money — and somehow make it to the finish line with our knees still functioning!
Cheers everyone 💙

Stevo, Greeny and Whymark!
