Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Jamie's JustGiving page.
Here he goes again!! 🚴
On Saturday 7th of September, Jamie will undertake his next epic challenge, a 52 mile bike ride, the distance from home to Sheffield Children's Hospital, to raise money for the Children's Hospital Charity.
Shared with Jamie's permission....
As many may know, Jamie has been under the care of Sheffield Children's Hospital for over three and a half years. In October 2022, having undergone an extensive series of tests and procedures, often quite invasive, to investigate problems with his bladder, Jamie had to have a suprapubic catheter. Unfortunately Jamie really struggled with frequent, agonising spasms; coupled with two large bladder stones, he was unable to fully participate in many of the activities he loved, such as PE, football and playing out with his friends, as he was in too much discomfort, which also impacted his self confidence. Under the care of his new consultant, in July 2023 he underwent a 5 hour operation which quite literally changed his life. Further tests over the next few months revealed the operation had been a success and in February 2024 his catheter was removed, which was something he thought may never happen. Since then, Jamie has gone from strength to strength, regaining his confidence and love of all things sporty and active, pain free.
Jamie now aims to raise money for the Children's Hospital Charity, to help other children attending the hospital or who are going through similar experiences. He also wants to say thank you for the amazing care he has received over the years.
All donations will be very gratefully received and, from Jamie, a huge thank you very much 💙💛
