Story

This year, I’ll be taking on the Kiltwalk in support of Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland,

My mum is nothing short of a miracle. She survived a cardiac arrest after her heart suddenly stopped, and for ten terrifying minutes, there was no oxygen going to her brain. She was placed in an induced coma, and as a family this absolutely devastated us and prepared ourselves for the worst— but against all odds, she survived. Her strength, determination, and fight to recover inspire me every single day.

Sadly, my family’s story isn’t the only one. Both of my friends’ mums have also suffered heart attacks and strokes, and I’ve seen firsthand the fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty that these conditions bring to families. It’s something that changes lives forever — not just for those who experience it, but for everyone who loves them.

That’s why I’m walking — to raise money and awareness for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, a charity that helps people rebuild their lives after illness. They provide vital support, care, and hope to families who need it most.

Every step I take will be in honour of my mum, my friends’ mums, and everyone who’s faced the long road to recovery.

If you can, please consider donating to help me reach my goal. Every penny will go towards helping someone else get the care and support they deserve.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💖
