Story
A group of Sunderland AFC staff members, family and friends will take on the 2026 Great North Run in memory of their much-loved former colleague and coach, Carlton Fairweather, who sadly passed away in 2025 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
The group will run the iconic 13.1-mile route from Newcastle to South Shields on Sunday 13 September 2026, united in their goal to raise vital funds in Carlton’s name.
All proceeds will go towards supporting the St Benedict’s Hospice, in gratitude for the exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided to Carlton and his family during his illness.
The special tribute is a way for Sunderland AFC staff, family and friends to honour Carlton’s legacy and continue the values he championed within the club.
Participants:
Alex Chandy, Emily Davis, John Hewitson, Jack Temple, Sam Clayton, Keiron Mcarthur, Courtney Lock, Rhiannon Gray, Gurdeep Singh, Elliott Ewen, Louise Harrison, Luke Matthews.
