Story
Since 2014, I’ve voluntarily thrown myself into open water and called it “fun.” 🏊♀️🏊♀️🏊♀️
And this year is no different! I’m taking on the Great Swim again to raise money for the incredible Nottinghamshire Hospice 💚🩵💜🩷💛
Over the years I’ve battled choppy water, very questionable lake temperatures, being kicked and dunked and bashed into and the ongoing fear that something lurks in the dark and murky waters of Lake Windermere — The Lake District's own sea monster "Bownessie"!
Nottinghamshire Hospice does the most amazing work supporting people and families when they need it most in our local community, "adding life to days". Every pound genuinely helps them provide this support to patients and families and thus removing a whole load of financial and medical burden and makes such a difference (and gives me extra motivation when my goggles start leaking halfway round).
Nottinghamshire Hospice is a registered charity and all services are provided free of charge to our patients and their loved ones.
Our mission is to add life to every day for people who have been told their illness cannot be cured, helping them to live as actively and well as possible with care that puts them at the front of everything we say and do.
We achieve this through the kindness and generosity of people in communities across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire who recognise the difference our work makes. Thank you so much for your support.
