Story
I feel silly writing this, and asking people to donate money towards me doing a 10km run when there are people doing half marathons, full marathons, iron manathons...
However, if you had asked me a few months ago if I would be in this position, I would've laughed at you.
I couldn't run for more than a few minutes at that point, and due to my struggles with ADHD, I couldn't ever stick to an exercise routine for more than a few weeks at a time.
And yet...after signing up to Couch to 5k, I exceeded every expectation I ever had about myself and what I could achieve in terms of my fitness. I am incredibly proud of my progress, and to mark that achievement, I would like to attempt to raise money for a wonderful children's charity in the process.
(I'm also far less likely to bail if I've committed to fundraising.)
Move More is a local charity that works with communities and schools in Gloucestershire to provide opportunities for children to be more active, as well as advocating for education, creativity, mental health and family support.
I cannot understate how absolutely terrified I am of showing up to this event. My anxiety goes through the roof even at new Parkrun locations. So any words of encouragement or donations you can spare will mean the world to me.
Thank you
Carly
