Story

Welcome to my TCS London Marathon #TeamHDA fundraising page.

I will be taking part in the 2026 TCS London Marathon to help us support people living with Huntington's disease in England and Wales.

Huntington's disease (HD) is a hereditary neurodegenerative disorder that causes the progressive breakdown and death of nerve cells in the brain. This deterioration affects movement, cognition, and mental health, leading to a range of devastating symptoms, including uncontrollable movements, difficulty with speech and swallowing, walking and talking and changes in mood, thinking and memory. These symptoms become worse over time and gradually take away a persons independence.

There is currently no cure and the effects are heartbreaking for those living with it and their families. Every bit of support helps in the bid to find a cure.

Anyone who knows me, knows the persistent struggles and challenges I face every single day. Despite this I somehow persevere, push forward and power through the darkness that is forever present.

I like to set myself challenges I should never be able to accomplish just to prove to myself I am still capable.

Tomorrow really is never promised so we should treasure and measure life in the quality of years not the quantity.

In April 2026 alongside my partner in crime, I am going to be running the London Marathon to fundraise, support and raise awareness for the Huntingtons Disease Association.

Most people know that this charity is so close to my families heart and have not only supported us but so many others within the UK who so greatly need it.

So many of us take even the smallest of things for granted and being impacted by a condition that means you will literally wake up one day and no longer be able to do so much completing my biggest challenge yet has never been so important. My dad is my biggest supporter in life and I will forever be so in awe of his strength and bravery everyday. You are my inspiration in life and we are all so proud. I will be thinking of you on every step of this journey and I know you’ll be my biggest supporter on the day.

Please read and share my page to support and learn more.

I am so incredibly grateful for this opportunity and money raised by other team HDA marathon runners will truly change so many families lives. We would be if you could support in anyway you can.
