Story

The Friends of the Steiner Academy Hereford are desperately fundraising to purchase a second-hand much needed minibus for our school.

So…. On Sunday 22nd June 2025…

Carly, Steve, Gavin and Zak we will be taking on the UKs most challenging sportive…the Dragon Ride 2025 🚲🚵 🐉. Think road bikes, think 157km of beautiful Welsh roads but gruelling Welsh mountains with 2223m of climbing, hopefully no blood but plenty of sweat and definitely some tears! 2025 will be 10 years since Carly and Steve last took part in the ride so what better way to celebrate than to grab some friends, put them through this gruelling challenge and raise some money for a cause close to our hearts…

Here’s what you can do…

We’d love for you to sponsor us, however much you are able, to help incentivise us round! It’s going to be tough (especially for Carly who is definitely not as fit as the men in the group!) but your support will be a huge encouragement. Every penny is very much appreciated ❤️

Here’s some info about Friends of SAH and our wonderful school…

The Friends of the Steiner Academy Hereford is the charitable organisation representing parents and friends of the Steiner Academy Hereford and is the fundraising and much needed arm of the school.

The role of Friends is to support and aid the development of our own school community, as well as other Steiner-inspired projects around the world. This work is carried out via social, educational and fundraising events, whether individual class fundraising or public, whole-school events.

Steiner Academy Hereford offer an education that enables children to experience childhood fully while enabling them to become responsible, free individuals who can think clearly and considerately, observe perceptively and act constructively for the good of the world. We provide a co-educational school for children from early childhood right through to school leaving age (3 to 16). The Steiner Waldorf approach is based on the simple but profound insight that children learn in different ways at different stages of their development. Pupils learn traditional subjects through distinctive and time-tested teaching methods that serve the children’s intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual development in ways that are suited to their age.
