Hello!
It’s Carly here, writing on behalf of Lauren, Nicole, Martin, and Wee Lauren.
This April, we’ll be taking on the Kilt Walk to raise funds for The Martin Chambers Ecuador Trust.
The Trust supports communities in Ecuador by covering school running costs, funding children’s education, and assisting individuals in need.
Before serving with the Missionary Society of St James in Ecuador, Martin was our parish priest at St.John’s in Stevenston and a key figure in our weekly Youth Group. In 2016, we were invited to travel to Nueva Prosperina in Guayaquil to work alongside Father Martin and support the community. What we experienced in Ecuador had a profound impact on our lives. We saw firsthand the challenges faced by those living in the shanty town and were particularly affected when meeting young people—our own age—who struggled to access basic necessities like food, education and safe housing. It made us acutely aware of our privilege but also we were able to see how impactful the fundraising efforts of those Scotland had already been within the Community.
Now, we want to take on the Kilt Walk 2025 to raise funds and continue the incredible work of The Martin Chambers Ecuador Trust.
Since Father Martin’s untimely passing in April 2024, we feel more strongly than ever about continuing his legacy and supporting our friends in Ecuador.
Thanks for your support!

A Wee Message From Wee Kaz!
"I’ll be joining the Young Team on the Kilt Walk this year in aid of The Martin Chambers Ecuador Trust. As a parishioner of one of Father Martin’s former parishes, I was supported by him during his time in Stevenston and followed his missionary journey while in Ecuador. I’ve signed up for the walk as a tribute to Father Martin and to help continue his legacy in Scotland, Ecuador, and beyond! I’ve been stomping the pavements since January—Kilt Walk, here we come!"
