Story
As some of you know my eldest daughter Anais has autism and associated global delay. Anais is non verbal and uses other ways to communicate. Autism has affected anais life and our life as a family in many ways. Anais is now 22 and I can honestly say as a mum to Anais this journey with autism has been incredibly hard, but also has had love and laughter. She has certainly taught us some life lessons especially resilience. What I would say is that life would have been so much harder without those who have helped us along the way including NAS which have helped to raise the profile of autism and helped to train staff and provide guidance for carers/ parents and more importantly advocate for those who have autism.
Ive been really lucky to gain a ballot place for the london marathon, so I wanted to try and raise some money to give something back and this charity is one that is close to my heart. I started running as a stress relief during some tough times when anais was having some behavioural issues related to her autism and so it seems fitting that this would be a way to raise some money for NAS.
I would be really grateful if you could sponsor me and help me to raise money for this fantastic charity.
