Story
On 12th April 2026 I’ll be running the LLHM and Im raising money for The Garden House Hospice, a local charity that is incredibly close to my heart and sadly currently facing a serious funding crisis. Due to a shortage of funding, they’ve had to make redundancies and cut vital services — something no hospice should ever have to do.
I want to dedicate this fundraising to my friend Donna and her sister Kelly, who tragically lost her life to cancer. Donna has kindly given me her blessing to raise money in Kelly’s memory. The Garden House Hospice cared for Kelly in the final days of her life, providing comfort, dignity and support not only to her, but to those who loved her. Donna will always be grateful for the care they gave Kelly and the compassion they showed at such a difficult time.
As part of this fundraiser, I’m taking on this run as a personal challenge. Although I completed it last year, I haven’t run much since. I returned to work five months ago after maternity leave, and as a working mum of two, finding time to train has been incredibly tough. This makes the challenge even more meaningful for me — every step is for a cause that truly matters.
Any donation, no matter how small, will help The Garden House Hospice continue their essential work and support families when they need it most. Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and for helping me honour Kelly’s memory.
