Story
Nacoa became a support to me when I was a teenager - that was a long time ago now! If you'd told me that when I was in my 40s I'd be raising money for them I'd have not understood why. In 2019 my mother died after a long battle with her lifestyle. In 2023 my husband and I walked 21 miles with Nacoa.
This time I'm running round London! To some this won't seem like much. But to me it's a mountain. In 2016, I damaged my ankle believing I would never get fit again. I grew overweight, unfit and miserable, so between 2021 and 2023 I lost 4.5 stone. I have changed a lot but this year I have slipped again. April the 6th 2025 is now my goal to;
1. Raise money for Nacoa
2. Tell as many people as I can about the fantastic work they do so that people can benefit from their support and ...
3. Use my story to get Nacoas name out there!!!
Nacoa (The National Association for Children of Alcoholics) supports people nationwide and is a Bristol based charity founded in 1990 to provide help and support for everyone affected by a parent’s drinking.
We believe that every child has the right to a happy childhood and to live a creative and meaningful life but when drink is the family secret they are more likely to experience family violence, neglect and other problems in their own homes.
