Hello all,

I’m hoping to raise awareness and money needed for vital research so that hopefully one day there may be a cure T1D.

Our beautiful daughter Olivia was diagnosed with a genetic form of Type 1 Diabetes in October 2024. Following on from a short illness which ended in hospitalisation, Olivia was admitted initially in a state of DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis) which is a life threatening condition caused by T1D.

After spending nearly two weeks in Kings College Hospital getting Olivia back to health and learning everything we need to know about Olivia’s condition we were sent home to start living our new normal.

We are now as a family dealing with Olivia’s new needs which at time are not easy and can be very upsetting for Olivia and especially for us as parents and everyone who cares for Olivia.

My hope is that one day Olivia will life a life without diabetes and that no one else has to go through what Olivia, our family and many others have faced.
