Raising funds for Samaritans Of Stoke And Newcastle

In memory of Ethan S Joseph

Warrington Half Marathon · 20 September 2026

Story

Myself and two of my friends, Katy & Maggie are taking on a big challenge to raise money for The Samaritans, in remembrance of Ethan 💙

We have signed up to run the Warrington Half Marathon on 20th September 2026, and just two weeks later I’ll be running the Potters ‘Arf on 4th October — that’s two half marathons in three weeks.

To be completely honest, I haven’t run a half marathon since 2024 and I’m definitely not at that level of fitness right now, so this is going to take a lot of dedication, training, and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. But it feels like such an important challenge to take on.

We are doing this to raise both money and awareness for mental health, and to honour Ethan’s memory. The Samaritans provide vital support to people who are struggling, and we want to do our part to help others who may be going through difficult times.

Mental health is so important, and it’s something that we need to keep talking about, supporting, and taking seriously.

Please, if you’re able to, support us by donating or sharing — every bit helps and could make a real difference ❤️

💙 Ethan S Joseph 27.04.97 - 09.11.25 💙

Ethan lived a very fulfilled and busy life. He loved being a daddy to his son, and he loved the great outdoors and nature. He would enter a room, and it would radiate with his love and aura. “He had this brighter-than-the-sun-type attitude when he was around you. The pain he was feeling he didn’t outwardly share.”  However, deep within, he endured a long battle with depression, ADHD and addiction issues.

Mental health doesn’t care how rich, talented, skilled or popular you are, and sometimes the pain stays completely hidden. And when it does, the world is left shocked, wondering how someone who “had it all” could be hurting so much inside.

" Rather than walk through the darkness alone, find the hand reaching out to walk through it with you. "

We all must learn to live without Ethan's physical presence. We must remember his legacy, his kindness, his jokes, his generosity, his loyalty, his courage and his mischief.

Please find the strength to reach out to a family member, a friend, the Samaritans, the mental Health team, a neighbour, a colleague, anyone....

"You matter. Your story matters. You’re worth every breath you take.”
