Story
During May half term, I’m walking part of the South West Coast Path in Dorset to raise money to help save Faith in Schools from closure. I’m doing 4 walks totalling 60 km across 4 days. As it’s the coast path some of it is going to be extremely steep and challenging!
For the last 15 years Faith in Schools has been taking Christians into Newham’s schools to support Religious Education lessons. We need £70,000 to keep going!
I love Faith in Schools as it gives us the opportunity to share God’s love with so many different pupils and members of staff in Newham’s schools as well as supporting churches with putting on events at Christmas and Easter. The Christmas Journey and Easter Experience are the highlight of my year!
Only 5% of children attend church on Sundays. How will they know about God’s love for them if Faith in Schools ceases to exist?
Faith in School’s aim is for every child and young person in Newham’s schools to have the opportunity to meet local Christians and discover what it means to be a Christian in the 21st century.
Please support me as I attempt this challenge!! I’ll be posting daily here and on Facebook from 29 May for you to see how I’m getting on and to offer me much needed encouragement!!!
Many thanks for your support!
