As most of you know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April and have been in and out of hospital with procedures and treatments and surgery since then. My battle isn't anywhere near over, but whilst I have some fight in me I want to try and raise some money to help all of those trying to Stand Up to Cancer and fund research to help treat and get rid of this horrendous disease. I will be ably aided and abetted by my uni friends Trevor and Kevin, and the team at the Three Peaks Challenge Ltd (so not attempting it alone!).

A good friend of mine was also diagnosed with cancer this year as well - thus I am not only fundraising for breast cancer research but for all cancers. It's everywhere, and horrible in all its forms.

One final note - make sure you are keeping an eye on your own body. If something doesn't look right, feel right, or you are just not sure, then PLEASE GET YOURSELF CHECKED OUT. All I had was a tiny bit of skin that just looked different to normal - no lumps, no bumps and even the doctor at the initial consultation couldn't see anything visually. They still investigated and here we are. Scary, but imagine how bad it could have been if I hadn't followed through....

A big shout out to the Breast Clinic at Ipswich Hospital who have been quick, efficient, caring and informative throughout. NHS - we love you.
