My sister Sue was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in February 2023. As you can imagine this was a massive shock especially so soon after losing Mum & Dad and ahead of her intended move south.

Earlier this year Sue moved to a lovely flat in the Tadworth area nearby to David and I and her treatment was transferred to The Royal Marsden. It’s been a rollercoaster and she’s doing well.

Maggie’s at The Marsden in Sutton has been an oasis of calm and support especially in the space in between Sue’s appointments. Every time we visit we see how much they offer to patients and families alike, they really are amazing.

I love a challenging hike so when I saw this three peaks challenge it seemed the perfect way to support Maggie’s. And when I mentioned it to my friend Kate who’s walking with me she didn’t hesitate to sign up too.

Then I read the small print and realised it’s 23 miles (37km)!!!

No backing out now…we’re doing this…
