Story
I will be doing a 17 mile walk around a lake in Leicestershire with my sister to raise some much needed funds for a local charity. We are both in our 70’s and over the years we have watched friends, family and loved ones battle all types of cancer. The support they need during those difficult times usually relies on local charities such as the Portsmouth Breast Cancer Friends.
Portsmouth Breast Cancer Friends supports local people after a breast cancer diagnosis by providing opportunties to meet up, share experiences and information, and find ways to move forward. It also hosts visiting speakers and works in partnership with local services to enhance the support it provides. Around 700 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the Portsmouth area alone. By supporting the charity, you will enable their vital work to continue. The charity is entirely run by volunteers, and funds raised go directly to supporting people who have had a breast cancer diagnosis.
