Story
Wakefield Baptist church hosts a twice-a-week Drop-In service supporting people experiencing rough sleeping, hidden homelessness, and housing instability, alongside those at risk due to poverty, substance use, poor health, and social isolation. We work closely with local partners, including healthcare providers (Bevan Heathcare), substance misuse services (Spectrum), and community organisations, to ensure individuals can access wider support pathways. We provide a holistic, trauma-informed offer that includes hot meals, access to showers and laundry facilities, clothing and food provision, GP drop-in sessions, addiction support access, and health screening. Our approach prioritises dignity, trust, and consistency, enabling engagement with individuals who often do not access statutory services.
