Story
My 60th birthday is fast approaching, and I want to do something truly memorable to celebrate this milestone. But more importantly, I want to use this occasion to make a difference for a cause that is personal to me.
On Saturday, 27th September, I’ll be taking to the skies above Lancaster to do a charity skydive!
I’ve chosen to support Dementia UK, a wonderful charity that provides specialist dementia support to families. This is a cause I hold incredibly dear for two very important reasons. Firstly, in loving memory of my dear mum, as I experienced the devastating impact dementia has not just on the person living with it, but on their loved ones too.
Secondly, in huge support of a dear friend and ex-colleague who has recently been diagnosed with early dementia. I want to do this to show my unwavering support to them
Dementia UK does such vital work, providing Admiral Nurses who offer expert guidance and support to families facing dementia. Your donation, no matter how small, will help ensure that more families can access this critical help when they need it most.
I'm nervous, but also so full of determination. I know this jump will be an incredible challenge, but it pales in comparison to the challenges faced by those living with dementia and their families every single day.
Thank you so much for your support. Please share this page with anyone you think might be able to help. Let's do this together!
