Story
I’ve always felt the tug of a great voyage. I grew up walking the Dorset coast and New Forest with my grandparents. My nan (Linda) spurring us on no matter the weather. Video games and TV were only allowed after we’d gotten a few soggy miles in.
My dad (Jonny) too was a great lover of the outdoors, at home in the trees that were his livelihood. I thank him for the thick thighs I’ll use to traverse over 1200 miles, the length of the UK!
I’ll be doing this walk in honour of them both, walking in my nan’s old boots and raising money for The Meeting Room, a charity close to my Dad’s heart as he volunteered there. Their mission is simple, community. My dad struggled with substance abuse and my nan with depression. The Meeting Room provides a space to just chat, have a cup of tea and be asked how you really are, without judgement.
Please donate if you can - and let’s get to £2500!
