Story
As many of you may know, living with a rare type of migraine can feel like an uphill battle. I am personally affected by both hemiplegic migraine and basilar migraine, conditions that are often misunderstood and dismissed by those who should be helping us. Too frequently, we hear comments like "it's all in your head" or "the pain isn't real." This lack of understanding only adds to our struggle.
Migraine is not just a headache; it is the most common and disabling neurological disorder in the UK, impacting 1 in 7 people. We need more research to uncover the complexities of this condition, and we deserve to live our lives free from pain and judgment. The Migraine Trust stands as a beacon of hope for those affected by migraines. They are the only charity dedicated to research and support for individuals like us in the UK. Through their efforts, they fund vital research, provide essential support and information, and advocate for meaningful change.
I am participating in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk on September 14th, 2025, to raise funds for The Migraine Trust with a target of £1,000. I invite you to join me in this important cause. Your support can help transform lives by funding crucial research and providing much-needed resources for those suffering from migraines. Together, we can make a difference!
