Story
Hey👋🏼
I am taking part in the Kilt Walk in Edinburgh on Sunday 14th September to raise funds for the Glasgow ASN Mummy Charity.
My son Andrew who is 5, was diagnosed with having Autism in August 2024 when he was 4 years old.
Andrew attended Glen Family Centre from when he was nearly 2, concerns were raised as he was showing traits of Autism. I was totally oblivious to what Autism was!
Since then I was about to endure the hardest and most challenging years of my life. From being put on waiting lists for years for Andrew to go through assessments and for his diagnosis, fighting to access the correct help and support for Andrew’s everyday life and also his education.
Last year I was added to a Whatsapp group for stay and plays for children with additional support needs (ASN). This was ran and organised by Natalie the Glasgow ASN mummy. I was now introduced to a whole new community of parents facing the same struggles and challenges as myself. There was no judgement! Only support and kindness from everyone.
Andrew and I have met good friends for life and now life isn’t so lonely anymore.
I honestly don’t know where we would be if it wasn’t for the support of The Glasgow ASN Mummy charity.
All donations big or small will make such a difference to all the children who are supported by this amazing charity.
Thank you for reading and for your support💖🥰
