Story
I have been inspired by the extraordinary warmth, joy and unwavering dedication of the team at Willow Wood Hospice through my involvement with Featherbed Tales. As my local hospice, they provide invaluable support to individuals and families locally during some of life’s most challenging moments, offering comfort and care when it is needed most.
On 5 September 2026, I will be taking on the long distance challenge of Chillswim Windermere 2026, swimming the full 11 miles from one end of the lake to the other. Having swum across the width of Windermere at just eight years old, this event will mark a lifelong ambition fulfilled—swimming its length fifty years later at age 58. This journey is not only a test of endurance but a heartfelt mission to raise vital funds for Willow Wood Hospice, having witnessed firsthand how hospices can make a massive difference at the end of life.
The need for their life-changing care has never been greater. Every donation helps sustain their essential services, ensuring that those facing difficult times receive the support and hope they deserve. I am aiming to raise £500 to support this cause, and I warmly invite you to join me in making a meaningful difference. Together, we can empower Willow Wood Hospice to continue their amazing work—please consider contributing today.
