Story

My mother, Joyce Baker, is 100 years old on 11th August 2025! She was enjoying a happy and active retirement until November 2023, when she suffered a series of three strokes, leaving her very severely disabled.

Mum had to sell her home and everything in it, but she is now supported by the loving care and friendship in Grosvenor House Nursing Home at Alvechurch, Birmingham. Loyal friends and family visit every day, the home provides a happy and stimulating environment, and she is happy once more.

As she approaches her 100th birthday, Joyce asks that instead of buying her presents, you will be willing to donate whatever you would have spent on her to the Stroke Association. They work hard to provide support and services to everyone who has been through the terrifying experience of having a stroke.
